Chronic Dehydration after Colectomy

When an individual has a disease such as Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease, etc, there may be a surgical need to remove the Colon. After this occurs many people suffer from chronic dehydration since a great deal of water and electrolytes are absorbed in the colon.
I am looking for information about the extra requirements for fluid and electrolytes for a person who is living with no colon, ie, what the daily nutrional value required would look like for electrolytes and water, and specific amounts.
I am concerned about my own health, including many symptoms of chronic dehydration, and any input can be passed on to thousands of people in the same situation.
Thanks!
