Below is an explanation of the dehydration pain link & using water as pain treatment.
Included is also a link to our sister herbal site & our exercise site with information on numerous exercises designed to increase fitness & reduce pains.
The following addresses pain not due to injury or disease. Dehydration could bring on conditions that become painful or it could worsen pains due to injury.
For example, chronic dehydration causes nerve pain or worsens nerve pain and leads to various conditions that cause joint pain.
Add to these, the role of dehydration in heart pain, migraine, colitis & numerous other conditions & you can see why many of the 200 million pain sufferers worldwide are probably suffering from pain caused by dehydration.
Causes of nerve pain, joint pain & other pains
Again, we are discussing pain not due to physical damage & yet demands mega research & billions of dollars spent on pain treatment & management.
Much of this dehydration pain is not well understood by traditional medicine because the effects & symptoms of dehydration are not fully addressed by it.
An example of pain due to dehydration is nerve pain which is caused by an acidic body & overly acidic cells.
This acidity is very irritating to nerve endings. We typically feel pain, sometimes intense pain, when nerve cells are too acidic.
Dehydration also causes joint pain we see in many arthritic conditions including rheumatoid & fibromyalgia. Not to mention that dehydration sets the stage for the development of those conditions & others.
Natural pain relief through water
Remarkable, water may be all that is needed to prevent pain cycles & relieve pain.
The reason why water is the best pain treatment is that ample water washes acidity out of the inside of cells. This is important as cells should ideally be a little alkaline. Most people register an overly acidic body setting the stage for disease & pain.
When urine is clear, it suggests an alkaline body.
Click on “How much water” tab for specifics on how much water you should drink to set the stage for disease prevention & pain relief.
A note on using water as natural pain relief
Sounds good, right. Too good to be true, right?
Well, yes & no. Drinking a lot of water may bring immediate pain relief for some people suffering from certain conditions. Examples include, heartburn, headache & others.
But it’s doubtful that drinking water will bring the same immediate relief that some prescription would.
Yes, even if you immediately start drinking more water & your urine is clearing up, it doesn’t prove that your cells have become fully hydrated.
Cell hydration may take some time, weeks & depends on other factors like your health profile. For example, if you have high cholesterol, the cholesterol around your cells may not permit immediate absorption of water.
So it may take some time for your body to profit from the extra water.
It is not a simple matter to break dehydration pain connection when it took years to set it.
You are encouraged to incorporate other lifestyle changes like exercising, eating healthier & using a variety of helpful natural herbs in addition to increasing water intake to relieve pain & improve your health.
