Following are two testimonials on the effects of skin dehydration on the complexion, especially the development of acne.
Healthy Water contains a page on hydration & healthy skin and one on acne & chronic dehydration.
Briefly, just a couple of points on how acne & unhealthy skin are simply further instances of dehydration symptoms.
At the earliest stage of dehydration, which occurs many times daily in the midst of common processes & activities, mild dehydration affects the skin before any other part of the body.
Why would the skin be the first supply organ for a body needing water?
Well, your skin has lots of water to spare.
Also, keeping skin hydrated is not as important as keeping vital organs hydrated and blood liquidy.
However, your skin does need lots of water to stay soft & supple & to help it get rid of toxins, chemicals, wastes & oils. If you don’t drink enough water, skin dries up & pores may clog, a major cause of cystic acne.
To make sure that water has a flushing effect, drink filtered water so that you are not ingesting more chemicals from the increased water intake.
Use a shower water filter to eliminate chemicals from being poured onto your skin and being absorbed by your open pores. Using a high quality shower water filter also helps you avoid experiencing dehydration skin acne.
Testimonials on skin dehydration/acne
Note that my comments on the testimonials are in italics.
Also note that testimonials that were positive to the books & strategy were obviously selected but frankly there aren’t many testimonials of readers who increased hydration levels who had negative reactions.
Also note that there are numerous testimonials But we simply chose some representative ones.
Amazing! Water for acne relief!, July 16, 2004 By A Customer
I was recently on a very hectic business trip for a week. During that time I only drank maybe one small glass of water each day, usually just before bedtime. By the end of that week, I had broken out in a really nasty batch of acne. I've been battling adult acne for years.
Recently I've been trying to control it with diet. But, still, it wasn't completely under control.
When I got back from my trip, the copy of Dr. Batmanghelidj’s book I ordered had arrived. I always knew water was good for the skin (as well as the entire body) but I wasn't drinking nearly enough of it.
I immediately put the "water cure" into practice.
By the end of the second week my skin was almost completely clear. I had even lapsed a bit on my normal diet of mostly fruits and vegetables and had some cheese pizza and soft drinks, which I always thought contributed to my acne.
It turns out all I really needed to do was drink more water! And now I'm feeling relief from lower back pain as well! Buy this book!
A Customer makes a very important point about hydration or chronic dehydration. Namely, at times simply increasing water intake permits errors of diet & fitness. Why? Because even mild dehydration system-wide effects. Correcting dehydration symptoms also addresses seemingly disconnected health issues. As my kids say, “It’s all good.”
Very good, but too technical in parts., August 1, 2005 cjpmak (New York)
I enjoyed this book. I'm already a believer in drinking copious amounts of water. My skin is clearer and I feel better. So much of the information in this book wasn't all that new to me.
On the other hand, this book gets into chemistry, biology, physiology and other technical areas that make the book drag.
But overall, it's a good read.
It is true that Dr. B does delve into scientific material & uses technical terms. Some people, “eggheads” like me kind of like that stuff. But one reason for this website is to try and present important concepts simply. Hey, check in on Healthy Water & just purchase Dr. B’s books for your college kids.
