But knowing that migraine and dehydration are connected can help eradicate this terrible symptom.

If you are a migraine sufferer, I hardly need to inform you on any matter dealing with migraines.
If, you are not a sufferer, be thankful.
What is a migraine?
There are so many answers to this question and so many triggers and treatments and severities and symptoms, that we could probably state that there is no real good answer.
All we could say for sure is that it is a type of headache.
Any other answer would be specific to the sufferer's experience.
Since it is a type of headache, our discussion on preventing and treating headaches with water applies to migraines also.
Briefly, headaches develop because the brain lacks water and therefore directs water containing blood to itself. The rush and deposit of this blood causes headache.
Migraine sufferer's symptoms, however, seem to be more extreme and unpredictable than let's say a tension headache.
But the treatment should be the same.
If you are not suffering from any other physical compromise and your dehydration hasn't set in as chronic and permanent, just drink water.
Drink several glasses of cool water immediately upon sensing a migraine and make sure to sip water throughout the day. Drink cool water.
This should be all you need to do to reduce or eliminate your headaches.
Try to build up to drinking half your weight in water in ounces every day. Example, you weigh 200 pounds, drink 100 ounces of water daily. Drink 1 or 2 glasses in the morning before you take in anything else and then wait half an hour before you breakfast.
If you do not respond in a few hours or days it is a sign that migraine is just one of the chronic dehydration signs you are or will be dealing with.
Keep drinking on schedule. It just may take a few weeks for your body to adjust to you drinking schedule and make good use of water.
This will help you break the link between migraine and dehydration, hopefully sooner rather than later.
