The following table, "How much water should I drink daily", should serve as a guideline.
Amount of water needed really depends on many factors.
What is absolutely clear is that most people do not drink recommended amount of water daily.
Worse yet, the recommended amount is too low for most people.
The minimum daily water needs is one half ounce per pound.
But ideally, you should be drinking 2/3 of your body weight in ounces.
Please note that the table suggests you drink much more water than common recommendations. Much more!
Logically, what good would recommendation to drink 8 glasses of water a day if there are wild variations in weight, activity level and lifestyle between people?
Also note that at the upper ranges of weight, 200 pounds and above your water needs are quite high. Maybe too high for you to attain.
If you weigh well over 200 pounds, your water needs should not be counted with 2/3 formula. Just adjust. Drink a little more water daily and lose some weight.
Easier said than done, I know.
But, increased water coupled with the best exercise in the world, walking, should do the trick. You will be drinking more water, losing some weight and needing less water as you lose weight and on and on.
A tip on walking. Walk more and more each day. Try and do 2 walks per day.
This is the best way to lose weight when you are overweight.
Of course, consult your physician before undertaking any lifestyle change.
