1) Water makes you feel full.

2) Drinking water tells our body to release water through sweating or urinating.

3) Digestion is eased when you have enough water in your body. Speeding the processing of your food can lead to 4 - 10 pounds of weight loss in just a few weeks.

4) Water allows your body to start and complete many processes, increasing your metabolism a great way to lose weight.

5)Your liver is responsible for converting fat to energy. When your liver does not have enough water to turn fat into energy you retain fat.

6) Drinking water, especially with a little fiber, decreases the amount of insulin your body releases.

If you are overweight and you don't mind drinking a lot of water, try this. Start drinking a quart of water a half hour before your three meals. Finish the quart over the 30 minutes then eat. Visit our pages on the dehydration obesity link for more information:

An excellent book. I learned a lot about the many benefits of water. For years I thought that drinking sodas and juices replaced any need that I might have had for plain water and boy was I wrong. Now that I have been drinking water I feel better, have lost weight (I wasn't over weight before) and almost every aspect of my health has improved.

If years ago I would have known what I know now about the benefits of drinking water I could have saved myself a lot of money on other fluids that in essence were not doing my body as much good as a plain glass of water would have. I highly recommend this book.

Just to highlight how many health indices can improve just by hydrating.

2) My own experiences, October 11, 2001 - Melissa

This review is for: Your Body's Many Cries for Water (Paperback). I came to the site to buy this book, so I have not read it yet. I began reading the reviews and felt compelled to share my own experiences with water drinking, when i read negative reviews about feared water retention, and over working internal organs with lots of water drinking.

I started dieting 7 months ago. one month into the diet, I began drinking a gallon of clear water a day (for years I was an avid soda only drinker). when I started drinking the water, my weight loss increased by nearly two pounds a week. I have reached my goal weight, and attribute maintaining my new weight to my continued water drinking. When I started drinking water, my problems with constipation, water retention (even during "that time of the month"), and chronic heart burn, literally, disappeared (i've spent a small fortune on over the counter antacides and stool softeners over the years).

I immediately had more energy, my skin looks healthier and glowing, my hair is glossy now instead of the dull fuzzies that i was plagued with for years, and never attributed to my lack of proper water consumption.

I sleep better, and feel more rested when I get up in the morning. I feel, and know, that I am now in much better health, not only due to my 40 pound weight loss, but the fact that I am now giving my body the amount of water it needs to properly function every day.

Anyone who says that extra water "can’t" be good for you, has not done the proper research. I would suggest they start drinking, and see the results for themselves. The proof is in the pudding. and the pudding is good old H2O! I swear by it now, and praise its benefits to everyone I meet.

I’ve also found that hydration with lots of water has helped me when I’ve gone over weight. Again, notice how many problems improve with increased hydration.

This review is for: Your Body's Many Cries for Water (Paperback) Have you ever had a book change your life? This one did for me. I went from 325 pounds on a 5'11" frame to 220 pounds in 8 months after reading and realizing how I was depriving myself of the most basic element for sustaining life.

This book not only shows you how water cures weight problems but numerous other things and it just plain makes common sense. The author exposes how the medical industry ignores this simple cure with countless medications that have a multitude of side effects and don't work as good as plain old water.

The Author is a Medical Doctor and is not ignorant. He believes there is a time and a place for medication, but water fits the bill more often than not. The book is also a good read as the author describes how he cured thousands in a middle east concentration camp with the only thing they let him have, water.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of testimonials on how hydration treated dozens of conditions that are effects & symptoms of dehydration.
